FF Beneficiaries 2018: Group 1

Mrs. Toch Mabb: CSV

toch mabb

Mrs. Toch Mabb received a loan to start a business selling cakes and palm fruits to people in her village and children at school.  She uses the profits from her business to care for her 13 children and sick husband.  Her business has an income of $5/day, which Toch Mabb tracks through an income log.  One of her biggest problems is lack of customers on rainy days, and she is eager to have more business training in the future. She also has a daughter who works as a maid in Phnom Penh and sends her money monthly. Toch Mabb Is the CSV (community support volunteer) for her group; she has 11 members in her group. Some of her responsibilities as a CSV include making home visits to other beneficiaries in her group,  following up with them after monthly meetings, and being a point of contact for whenever other beneficiaries run into any issues. She also reports all of this information to Sophors, our CSO (community support officer).

Mr. Dat Chantour and Mrs. Sorn Sokleng

Dat Chantour and Sorn Sokleng

Mr. Dat Chantour received a loan to start a business selling fish. He and his wife, Mrs. Sorn Sokleng used the loan for a boat and nets. They have been doing this for 5 years making about $5/day selling to locals in the area. They use the profits from their business to care for their 3 kids.  Mr. Dat Chantour has expressed concern for his business due to the difficulties he has experienced fishing.  A lot of people are fishing and there are not that many fish left in the lake. He and his wife would both love to have more training in continuing to have a successful business despite the troubles they have encountered.
